Marking the 40th anniversary for the capital's reunification, a new campaign to encourage families to celebrate their Bar Mitzvah event in Jerusalem was launched
A new website, calling families in The US, Canada, France and England, to celebrate their Bar Mitzvah event in Jerusalem, was launched this week. The campaign addresses 3 million Jews who live in these countries.
The website is initiated by the Tourism Authority in the Jerusalem Municipality, The Tourism Ministry, The Jerusalem Hotel Association and the forum of the Old City sites.It was carried out by the Government Publications Office.
The website offers options for producing the Bar/Bat Mitzvah event. It also offers different Bar Mitzvah packages, attractions, sites, tours, hotels and a variety of activities, specially designed for the teenagers and their families.
Interested families are referred to a list of travel agents who specialize in organizing these Bar Mitzvah tours, and are located abroad.
This unique website includes research, building an internet site, buying advertising spaces, search options and sponsored links. It is written in 3 languages – Hebrew, English and French. The website was launched today, the campaign itself will be accelerated next week.

A Bar Mitzvah celebration is a once in a lifetime event, which is highly significant in the Jewish world. Since many family members and relatives attend this event, it has a great touristic potential. Tourism minister Mr. Yitzchak Aharonovitch and Jerusalem mayor, Mr. Uri Lupolianski gave their blessing to the project. They also noted that this campaign will bring many tourists into Israel, who will visit Jerusalem, enjoy its sites and would come back on their next vacations.
