So little time is left for us to show forth the Love of Christ and tell the world about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Only what we do for the Lord will go with us when we meet Him face to face.  Jesus could return any day.  No prophecies need to be fulfilled before we meet Him in the air.  I trust that each of you are prepared for that day and are looking forward with the hope that is in us.  Concern for our family and friends is naturally our first thought if He were to come today.  As disciples of Christ, our next thought should be for those who do not know Jesus as Savior.  The poor and needy are longing for relief.  While there is time we must do all in our power to help them with both their spiritual and physical needs according to our ability.  I am so thankful for you that share this concern with CFBI.

We have been blessed by the donations that have recently come in for our annual Collection/Distribution trip to Israel.  Our projects in Israel are in greater need this year for their ministries to the poor and needy.  Please pray that the Lord will continue to provide and use CFBI to be a greater blessing to our projects this year.  Of course we could not do this without the Lord first using you to pray and give so that together we can be the Biblical blessing to Abraham and his chosen nation (Genesis 12:1-3).

The Lord has proven His faithfulness to Timmie and me many times over the years.  In spite of our weaknesses, God’s blessings have been abundant.  We believe these blessings have come primarily because of our obedience and desire to be a blessing to others.  Each of us has gifts that the Lord expects us to use to further His Kingdom.  Some have more gifts than others, but the one that all can have if they are physically and mentally able is the gift of helps (I Corinthians 12:28).  The sharing of oneself, including possessions, for those in need is exercising our gift of helps.  This is a worthy expression of our love and faith for Jesus for the world to see in us.

One of our supporting churches is having Vacation Bible School this week.  Each year they challenge the children with a penny offering between the boys and girls for a missionary project.  This year they have chosen Christians for Biblical Israel.  What a blessing it was when I heard this.  This year maybe your VBS, church or Sunday school class could do something similar to be a blessing to Israel and God’s Chosen People.  I ask that you please consider and pray about this.  We need the donation to come in by the middle of October to personally deliver this scriptural offering to our projects in Israel.  Every penny given for our projects will go to them.
